Now That’s What I Call Music! (NOW) is a series of various artists compilation albums released in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Sony Music and Universal Music (Universal/Virgin EMI) which began in 1983.
The 68th edition of the UK series was released on 23 March 2018 as a 3-disc CD, 2-disc vinyl record and digital album. It is the first album in the series to be released on vinyl record since Now That’s What I Call Music 36 in November 2001.

The series continued to find commercial success in 2018, with the release of Now That’s What I Call Music! 68. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 109,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. This marked the fifteenth consecutive album in the series to debut atop the chart, and the thirty-sixth overall. The album was later certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Commercially, Now That’s What I Call Music! 68 became the best-selling album of 2018 in the United States. The album was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for track-equivalent sales of three million units. In Canada, the album was certified double platinum by Music Canada (MC) for sales of 160,000 copies.
Critical reception for Now That’s What I Call Music! 68 was positive. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 63 based on 7 reviews. Hannah Mylrea from NME gave the album a positive review, praising its “diversity and quality”. She felt that “Now That’s What I Call Music! 68 is further evidence that – whatever naysayers might say – pop music is currently in rude health.”
Commercial performance
Now That’s What I Call Music 68 debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, selling 58,000 copies in its first week. This marked the Now! brand’s 30th chart-topping album in the United Kingdom. The album also debuted at number one on the Scottish Albums Chart.
