There are actually several ways that you can transfer your music collection from one iPhone to another, and we’ll cover all the bases here. We’ll start with the most obvious method first, using Apple’s iCloud service, and then we’ll look at a couple of other ways that you might not be aware of. Finally, we’ll touch on what to do if you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network or if you want to move your music collection over without relying on the cloud.
What you need
In order to transfer music from one iPhone to another without a computer, you will need the following:
-iTunes installed on a computer
-Lightning to USB cable
-An iPhone with iOS 8 or higher
The process is as follows:
-Connect your first iPhone to your computer using the Lightning to USB cable.
-Open iTunes and select the device icon in the top left corner.
-Click on the ” Summary ” tab and select the ” Music ” option.
-Check the box that says ” Sync music with this iPhone .”
-Click on the ” Apply ” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
-Once the sync is complete, disconnect your first iPhone from your computer.
-Connect your second iPhone to your computer using the Lightning to USB cable.
-Open iTunes and select the device icon in the top left corner.
-Click on the ” Summary ” tab and select the ” Music ” option. ( Ensure that you have no other devices selected in iTunes before proceeding! ) This will allow you to choose which playlist you wish to sync with your second iPhone .
Set up iCloud Music Library
If you’re using an iPhone, you can use iCloud Music Library to keep a collection of music up-to-date across all of your devices. To set up iCloud Music Library:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap Music.
3. Turn on iCloud Music Library.
4. Tap Join Apple Music when prompted to join or start a subscription.
Once you’ve set up iCloud Music Library, any music that you add to your iPhone will be automatically added to your other devices that have iCloud Music Library enabled. You can also access your entire music collection by opening the Music app on any of your devices.
Use Apple Music
Here is a quick guide on how to use Apple Music to transfer music from one iPhone to another.
1. On your first iPhone, open the Apple Music app and go to your library.
2. Select the song or songs that you want to transfer and tap the share button.
3. Tap the “Add to Library” option.
4. On your second iPhone, open the Music app and go to your library. Your new songs should be there!
Use iTunes Match
iTunes Match is a cloud-based service from Apple that allows you to keep your music library synchronized across multiple devices. It works by matching the songs in your iTunes library to songs in the iTunes Store, and then uploading any that it can’t match. Well, there’s good news: you can use AirDrop to transfer music from one iPhone to another, and it’s really easy! Here’s how:
1. Make sure both iPhones are turned on and within range of each other (about 30 feet).
2. On your old iPhone, open the Music app and go to the song or album you want to transfer.
3. Tap the share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up), then tap AirDrop.
4. Choose the new iPhone from the list of devices that appears.
5. The song or album will start transferring wirelessly – easy!
